"Chicken Train" - Ozark Mountain Daredevils

Growing up, we did not have much "kid music." Essentially, we listened to what my parents listened to on the radio and on the turntable. I had a lot of exposure to Steely Dan, Pink Floyd and many other classic rock artists at an early age. And this gem from 1973 is one of my earliest musical memories. It is unique and memorable, to say the least.

Recipe--Yum Yum Cheerios

This post was inspired by @emppalp's Tumblr video a month or two ago showing some mad culinary skills. My offering is a bit more banal, but it works for me. I have been eating these since I was 12 or so. I hope you find them a welcome addition to your arsenal.

1. Start with a bowl of Cheerios (or the generic stuff--just as good here). And I am talking a real fucking bowl. Not some bullshit quarter cup or half cup. Like two or three cups.

2. Melt two tablespoons of butter in the microwave (20 seconds is about perfect). I really encourage you to show restraint with the butter, Paula Deen notwithstanding. You don't want these to end up soggy.

3. Pour the butter over the Cheerios. Go for even distribution.

4. Salt to taste. A MODERATE pinch of kosher or coarse sea salt is my preferred amount.

5. Stir thoroughly and enjoy.

OPTIONAL: 6. Brag about how you have started eating more Cheerios lately.

And, yes, these are REALLY good after...well, you know...
